Time is gold?????
04.20.08 (1:56 am) [edit] My summer would become boring if I don't play sports. Good thing our parish has organized a day-long event of sports so that our parish will be more bonded. I signed up for table tennis and since a neighbor, just in front of our house, plays it also and is also the head of table tennis for the day-long activity, we are "practicing" for it almost everyday. Also, thank God that we play basketball and futsal every Saturday night in the school. I can still practice my skills.
"Time is Gold" many say, but what does this quotation mean? A very simple meaning for this is that since people value so much gold, because of its price, people must value time as they value Gold. But the way people value time differs from one another. As St. Josemaria said " For some, time is money but for us Christian, time is glory." This means, as a Christian, we must use our time to give glory to God. how can we do it since we are all doing different things and we can't pray all the time? well, praying is a way of giving glory to God, but it is not the only way. St. Josemaria is known for his teaching of sanctification of daily work. His teaching tells each one of us that we can all give glory to God by doing whatever we're doing (washing the dishes, studying, reading, etc.) excellently and to offer it to God. In this way, we are doing what we are ought to do at the same time, we are giving glory to God.
Everyone must remember that the time one has in his life is the only time he can use to gain heaven. To gain heaven one must do good acts and avoid doing evil things. If one dies, he doesn't have another chance to be in heaven. So let us all make good use of each second that passes by giving glory to God.

04.08.08 (6:18 am) [edit]I am so glad that I have survived my first year as a college student. At the start of the academic year, my aim was to de in the Dean’s list but when the first semester has ended, I have decided to aim for an easier goal first. As many have known, I was granted a financial scholarship for the previous academic year. This means I still need to do some work for the university. So after calculating my average for the first semester which was 1.7, I have decided to aim to convert my scholarship grant to a merit scholarship because I became qualified for one. The only requirement for that grant is to have a GWA equal or greater to 1.75.
So when the second semester has started, I was very eager to do well in my subjects. In the beginning, my eagerness has failed me already in my English 102 because of our teacher. She knows what she’s teaching but the only problem is that she was boring. She can afford to just talk and talk in front of the class. She doesn’t care if people don’t recite in her subject. That’s what I found boring in her class. But in my other subjects the eagerness didn't disappear. Along with this willingness, I aimed a mark of 1.0 in my Calculus. During the first half of the previous semester, I was still on my path on getting my target grade in Calculus but when derivative was introduced to us, I was slowly being directed to a lower grade and eventually I have thought and told myself that the path towards a mark of flat 1 is already unachievable and I was left in a crossroad. One is heading toward a mark of 1.25. And the other one is not clear. It’s either a mark of 1.5 or 1.75 but surely it isn’t a mark lower to it because I can’t allow myself to walk towards that end, at least for Calculus. I am not boasting but that is what was on my mind.
As for my other subjects, I really don’t expect myself to get a high mark in Filipino because I’m still in Ginoo’s class. I still chose him even if I know that I won’t be able to get a higher mark because I know that I’ll learn in his class.
But the most disappointing thing that happened to me last semester was with my programming subject, Computing 1. I was doing very well while approaching the end of the semester. I even have bonus grade due to the previous long tests. But the final exam arrived and my hopes of getting a flat 1 in it have almost been diminished because I wasn’t able to get a perfect score in our final exam. But since I have some bonuses from my long tests, I am still hoping of getting a flat 1.
And the time is nearing to determine if I achieve my goal or not. Our final grades are one by one being uploaded to our site. And as of this writing, the registrar has uploaded already three grades. I got 2 in Filipino, as expected. I got 2.25 in English, expected also but disappointing. And lastly, I got 1 in NSTP, higher than expected. If my computations are correct, if I’ll get 1.5 in Calculus (The lowest I’ll get, I think), 1.5 in Computer System, 1.25 in Computing, if my bonuses can’t give me a flat 1 in it, and 1.75 in PE, then I’ll have a reason to celebrate because my grades will be in the requirement for a merit scholarship. So guys, pray with me. Hehe. I hope you’ll get the grade you deserve and I hope it will be high…
My passion?????
04.06.08 (9:12 am) [edit]this post will be short....
In my junior year in Southridge, our final requirement in Filipino was a short story. At first, it was hard for me to think of a plot for my story for that was my first time to write one. Then, inspired by a story, i have thought of a very good plot. There is actually 4 different settings in the story with 4 characters. the first setting was during the Spanish era in the Philippines. the next is a basketball game. the 3rd is a room with genius people conversing. and last and the only real one was in a hospital. the only real one because the character in the last setting is a soldier that became crazy after being traumatized in a war and was brought to that hospital. And he has thought himself to be a propagandist during the Spanish era, a basketball star and a genius.
In my final year in Southridge, the final requirement in Filipino , as it has always been, was poems. It was hard for most of us in the batch to finish the required number of poems but as we approached the end of the school year, i was with the first quarter of the batch to have completed the requirement.
last semester, I was again required, in my Filipino class, to write a short story. but unlike in my junior year, it has not been difficult for me to think of a plot. So i have produced a very good story(i think, as what my friends have told me). It was about abortion. Actually i got the concept of the story from one of my poem in fourth year. The one telling the story was a child inside the mother. and in the end, the speaker said goodbye because he is getting weak after his mother drank the drug for abortion.
I really don't know if it is my passion to write, but now, i am thinking of creating another short story. i am just in the first part. thinking the plot of the story. so guys, wish me good luck. i am also wishing to write a script for a play or a even film. hahaha......
Thomas, the Angelic Doctor....
04.06.08 (4:51 am) [edit]Atheists are people who believe that God or simply a being higher than man doesn't exists. "Drink and be merry for tomorrow you'll die" this is what most of atheists believe. They say that there's nothing after dying. When you die, that's it. "It is said that men may not be the dreams of the Gods, but rather that the Gods are the dreams of men." - Carl Sagan. This person together with the other leaders of Atheism must be so intelligent because it is surely more easy to defend and more believable that there is someone higher than man or that there is God.
Another saint that I like, together with St. Josemaria, is St. Thomas Aquinas. St. Thomas is considered one of the greatest Christian philosophers to have ever lived. I like this saint not only because my teacher has said his name many times in his discussions but also because of his famous five ways, five logical ways, without putting Christian doctrine in it, to prove that there exist a higher being which is God. So to continue reading this post, it requires you to make use of your reason just like the atheists, the only difference is that they have didn't make good use of their reason. Also, be open-minded. (Pls. try to finish it. It's quite long)
1st way: The Argument from Motion
St. Thomas Aquinas has said, after studying Aristotle's work, that any object that is moving, for example the planets in the solar system, is put in motion by other object. St. Thomas believed that there must have been an UNMOVED MOVER (GOD), who first put things in motion. Follow the argument this way:
1.) Nothing can move itself.
2.) If every object in motion had a mover, then the first object in motion needed a mover.
3.) The first mover is the Unmoved Mover, called God.
2nd way: Causation of Existence
This Way deals with the issue of existence. Using his common sense, St. Thomas concluded that nothing can create itself. It simpler terms, an object must have been caused by something that has existed before it. He believed that there must have been an UNCAUSED FIRST CAUSE (GOD) who began the chain of existence. Follow the argument this way:
1.) There exist things that are caused (created) by other things.
2.) Nothing can be the cause of itself.
3.) There can’t be an endless string of objects causing other object to exist.
4.) Therefore, there must be an uncaused first cause called God.
3rd way: Contingent and Necessary Objects
This way defines two terms, contingent and necessary being. A contingent being is an object that can’t exist without a necessary being causing its existence. He believed that the existence of contingent beings would ultimately necessitate a being, the NECESSARY BEING, which must exist for all contingent being. Follow he argument this way:
1.) Contingent beings are caused
2.) Not every being can be contingent
3.) There must exist a being which is necessary to cause contingent beings.
4.) This necessary being is God.
4th way: The Argument from Degrees and Perfection
Given two paintings, one can say that one is more beautiful than the other. One has a greater degree of beauty than the next. This is referred to as degrees or gradation of quality. From this fact, given any quality there must be a perfect standard by which all such qualities are measured. These perfections are contained in God.
5th way: The Argument from Intelligent Designer
St. Thomas said that common sense tells us that the universe works in such a way, that one can conclude that it was designed by an intelligent designer, God. All physical laws and the order of nature and life were designed and ordered by God, the INTELLIGENT DESIGNER.
I miss you....
12.23.07 (7:22 am) [edit]I miss you so much. I didn't see you often. Have you already forgoten me? You know how much i love you, don't you?. i always help you in everything you do. I never leave you alone especially when you have problems.
i remember, you asked me once to help you because you were having problems in your Algebra subject and you know i didn't fail to help you. and eventually, with your diligence, you have passed the exam. i was, of course happy for you. even if you forgot to thank me for helping you, i didn't get mad at you. It is because i love you so much.
I also remember the day you have hurt me. you got mad at me. i didn't say a word. i just let you scold at me. In the end you realized that you were wrong and even if you didn't say sorry for hurting me so much, i didn't make it a big deal. It is because I love you so much.
i hope that after you have read this, you will realize that i love you so much that no other love can be compared to it.... i am longing so much for you to love me.
(tamaan k namn sana)
your friend, father, savior and God,
Jesus
Mathematics.......
12.21.07 (9:57 pm) [edit]Ask any person who knows me so much, he will say that I love math and excel in that subject (I’m not boasting about it). It is my favorite subject. This is why my ambition when I was in elementary is to be a famous Mathematician. My love in Math is mainly because I am a lazy person. I don’t like to memorize names, dates, or principles. That is why I hate knowledge subjects such as science and social studies. I like the easy way, that I would not need to spend so much time remembering things to get a high mark on an exam and that I will be able to answer the exam and get a high score with just skills, and it is what math is. It is a skill subject. I am not saying that you don’t need to memorize on math, but you’ll only need to memorize the principles once and with practice, you’ll memorize it by heart which means you may not be able to state the exact words but you’ll be able to apply it in solving problems. Isn’t easy?
When I was thinking what I would give to Jestine for our Christmas party, I looked at her blog to see her wish list for Christmas. As I was running through her list, one of her entry took my attention and it was the American TV series “NUMB3RS”. I got curious to it because I just love numbers. I have supposed that it has something to do with math. So I was thinking since that day that how will it be able that math would be included in a TV series.
When my teacher and I were looking for DVDs, I saw the TV series being sold. So I asked him about the series, he told me a short synopsis of it. He told me that the series is about someone, who has been recruited for the FBI, is actually solving crimes with mathematics. So this makes me more interested to buy DVD of the series (which I eventually did two days after that incident).
I have just started to watch the series yesterday and I like it so much. My passion in math has been revived (though it was never lost). It really amazed me that much that I was even hoping that I would be as good as Charlie in math. I am already at episode 5. I am planning to finish 2 seasons during this Christmas vacation. So if you aren’t doing anything this vacation, I suggest that you try watching this series. If you hate math, you could also give it a try, and I’m sure that after watching it, you will somehow appreciate Mathematics.
P.S. Heroes and Prison break are also good TV series.
I was born to be.... what???
12.19.07 (3:10 am) [edit]I would like to start this post by sharing a story about the son of King Louis XVI.
King Louis had been taken from his throne and imprisoned. His young son, the prince, was taken by those who dethroned the king. They thought that inasmuch as the king’s son was heir to the throne, if they could destroy him morally, he would never realize the great and grand destiny that life had bestowed upon him.
They took him to a community far away, and there they exposed the lad to every filthy and vile thing that life could offer. They exposed him to foods the richness of which would quickly make him a slave to appetite. They used vile language around him constantly. They exposed him to lewd and lusting women. They exposed him to dishonor and distrust. He was surrounded 24 hours a day by everything that could drag the soul of a man as low as one could slip. For over six months he had this treatment-but not once did the young lad buckle under pressure. Finally, after intensive temptation, they question him. Why had he not submitted himself to these things-why had he not partaken? These things would provide pleasure, satisfy his lust, and were desirable; they were all his. The boy said, “I cannot do what you ask for I was born to be a king.” (The 7 habits of highly effective teens, Sean Convey)
Prince Louis has planted his principles inside of him very tight that nothing can shake him. This Characteristic of the prince is very admirable. We should also try to acquire that fortitude that the prince has.
But there is a very big question after this. The prince was born to be a king, but what were you, we in general, born to be? Well the answer to the question is quite obvious. If you would ask this saint named Josemaria Escriva, he will definitely tell you that no matter who you are or where you are, you were born to become a Saint, to be with God.
Saints are generally those souls that are in heaven, but that doesn’t mean that only those that the Church has venerated are in heaven. It doesn’t go that way. There are a lot more souls in heaven but only those that the Church has venerated are those that were proven to be in heaven. It’s a very long process to prove that someone is in heaven. This is because the Church can’t just venerate someone that was good when he was alive.
So going back to what I was saying, no matter what or how strong the temptations that come to us, be tough like the prince, to tell yourself that you were born to be with God. Don’t mind those devils that are tempting you. Of course, it will be difficult for you to fight those devils (but it doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible) so ask help from heaven. Definitely you may ask God. Also, you could ask the angel that defeated Lucifer, St. Michael the archangel. Here is the prayer to St. Michael: (The priest in the movie “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” said this)
St. Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And to you, O prince of heavenly host thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirit who prowl around the world for the ruins of the soul.
resolutions!!!!!!!
12.18.07 (5:21 am) [edit]2007 will soon say goodbye and 2008 will take its place and because of this, I am sure that many people are now reflecting on the year that has passed to formulate their new year's resolutions, and some will even have the guts to post it on their blog. Before I continue I would just like to say that I have nothing against those people that will formulate their new year's resolution. In fact I am even encouraging everyone to have their resolutions for the coming year. It is absolutely better than doing nothing.
There are two things I would like to criticize on those people making their new year's resolution. The first is an obvious one. For the first month, it will be very noticeable for these people that they are really doing their resolutions. But after sometime, they will go back to their old habit. They can't do their resolutions anymore. An explanation for these is that some may have not been very sincere when they were making their resolutions.
The second one is this. Most of these people only make resolutions every New Year. Why make resolutions only every December? Every day, I am sure that everyone have committed a mistake and these, I suppose, these also require resolutions. Yes, you heard me right, I am saying tat everyday we should do resolutions for the day that has passed. This is to make you a better person everyday.
This is why there is a certain norm of piety for this and it is called examination of conscience. This is done every night. This is the formula for the examination of conscience. Ask yourself three things: (1) What did I do the whole day; (2) What are the bad things I did today and; (3) What will I do for me not to commit the same mistakes again.
When you are making resolutions, one thing is very important. It is Sincerity. And when you have already made your resolutions, constantly ask God to give you Fortitude to help you do all your resolutions.
A resolution that I have formulated to do for the next year is this, to do the examination of conscience every night. I suggest include this to your New Year's Resolution. ORAYT????????
Be a man...
12.02.07 (7:46 am) [edit]VIRILITER AGITE
this is the motto of my alma matter, our motto. it is "be a man. not to have big muscles, not to be tough but be a man, the one created in the likeness and image of God, the one that has the purpose of giving glory to God and the one who needs to be with God, to be a SAINT......
this motto isn't only for Southridge guys. You can have also this as your motto.
p.s. i don't think this suits for the women.. there are a lot of mottos which has the same concept that could fit the girls.
humility, the answer for pride.
12.02.07 (7:35 am) [edit]"Don't forget that you are a... trash can. That's why if by any chance the divine Gardener lays his hands on you, and scrubs and cleans you, and fills you with magnificent flowers, neither the scent nor the color that embellish your ugliness should make you proud.
Humble yourself: don't you know that you are the trash can?" pt 592
"you... proud? about what?" pt 600
these are quotes of st. josemaria from his book the way. very beautiful quotes aren't they? i have nothing to add.
love is sacrifice...
12.02.07 (7:24 am) [edit]There's nothing hard for a man in love, not even waiting for a very long time. there is this story in the bible where the guy(forgot his name) worked for the father of the woman(forgot her name also) he really loves for 14 years just for him to get the hands of the girl. This is a very good example of a man, deeply in love, going to great length of time, to have the girl she loves.
as i said, liking does not mean loving. but i would like to use the phrase in terms of liking and commiting in a relationship. a man, that likes a girl so much and wants her to be her girlfriend, needs first to go through a great lenght of time before he start courting the girl. this great lenght of time is very indefinte. you can't say that you will court her on your second year nor when you alread y have work. This is because this great length of time, i think, refers to the time you need to become mature. This can be longer or earlier than you have expected. no one can't predict the time he will become be mature. let me reiterate what I said in my previous post, a guy must be mature before he commits himself and this is the reason why i think it refers to the time it will take you to be mature. A guy must be mature before he commits because an immature person only wants love but can't give love in return. and if a imature person commits himself on a relationship, the relationship will not work definitely.
(i am sorry because i think i wasn't effective on pointing out what i want. i will edit this sometime in the future. i just need consultation)
What does a woman want?
12.02.07 (6:51 am) [edit]i have just returned from a very fruitful retreat. a talk was given about purity and the introduction was about love. Dr. J told us a story of king artur and his knights. in the story king artur was told to find what does a woman wants. they asked a witch. the witch said, what does a woman wants is to let her be.
for me, i understood the answer as to make her feel what she is, a lady. to do it, it means to be a gentleman..
holy mass...
10.22.07 (11:00 am) [edit]Masses are holy.. Obviously... so why wear inappropriate clothes???? The CBCP have already released a list of clothes that are appropriate for the masses... well, you don't reason out that you haven't saw it that's why you are wearing an inappropriate clothes, you have your mind ... use it.. Look a simple use of that rusty mind of yours. If you are invited to a formal gathering, would you wear shorts, a basketball jersey or   ;flip-flops? Of  ;course not.. Why?? Because you'll be ashamed.... you don't want to be shameful in front of important and known people ryt.... so how come you could atten d a mass wearing shorts or a basketball jersey or flip-flops? You are facing GOD, your creator, savior, loving father and the SUPREME BEING aren't you? You don't want to look shameful in front of important and known people but you could afford to be shameful in front of your GOD?? Shame to you..... Of course this doesn't apply on poor people who can't afford to buy decent clothes. God will definitely understand them... but you... you that have decent clothes but still wear an inappropriate clothes.....YOU ARE A STUPID PERSON.. Use your REASON... it's what distinguishes us from animals and plants..... I am not saying that you go to mass wearing a barong or a coat.. What I am saying is that wear decent and appropriate clothes...
Another thing... the mass starts at the entrance song and ends at the end of the last song. So don't be late.... also use ur mind... if the mass starts at 7. Why leave your house at seven??? Or worst at past seven?? Also if it ends at the last song, why leave after communion? Or at the start of the last song. I hate people leaving earlier than the priest. They don't respect the priest. So leave after the last song..You have 24 hrs a day, 168 hrs a week and God is just asking for an hour and a half from it and still you don't want to give the whole thing???? YOU'RE A SELFISH PERSON..
A very short post...
10.22.07 (9:56 am) [edit]thank God you aren't mad at me. i thought you were....
Prayer....conversation with God
10.20.07 (7:50 am) [edit]in a battle of the jews many century ago, Moses' sidekick Joshua, was fighting their enemy face to face while on the other hand Moses was on the top of a hill praying to God to make the jews victorious. and the result was taht the jews won the battle. This is a proof that prayer and action must always come together... as a saying goes "nasa Diyos ang awa. nasa tao ang gawa".
one can't pray to God to make him pass an exam without studying. obviously if one does, the result of his exam would be failing.... though on the other hand one could pass an exam without praying to God but one always need the help of God...
one pray not to make something impossible a reality and a reality to become impossible... one cannot pray that the sun will not rise tommorow morning. of course this will not happen because its a reality that the sun always rises every morning...
also God is not like a fairygodmother or a genie who will give you everything you wish... always keep in mind that God will always give you all things you need and not those things you want....
This is what i have heard and medidated in the meditation this evening...
when can you say I LOVE YOU??
10.19.07 (9:23 am) [edit]when can you say that you love that person??? is a 5-month friendship enough for you to love her??? of course not. let me tell you this, a 5-month, 5 days a week and more or less an hour each day of talking just between the two of you is not enough for you and her to know each other that well and for you to tell that you already love her... i'm not writing this because as everyone know, i also like her... but i'm writing this as a lesson taught to us in high school that i wanted to share to everyone... for someone to tell that he loves someone, he must have knew the person very much first...
this is the reason why the order of our purpose which is to know, love, and serve God is such.. we need to know God first then love and lastly serve him.
Before you could love a person, you should know her first and once you already have loved her, you need to serve her...this is the reason why there is no such thing as love at first sight..
I hope its clear.. i think it's not love. maybe your just infatuated or attracted to her(who would not have been? as i am also attracted to her).... just like what i said in my previous post , "I LOVE YOU" means not just what most is thinking.. it is something much much deeper....it is a commitment...
Commitment.....always with prudence
10.19.07 (7:38 am) [edit]Commitment is a very dangerous word. It could destroy many things, friendship, family, relationship and even yourself... we should not be afraid to commit ourselves. Actually we need to commit. We need to commit on many things. We should commit ourselves to our studies, to our responsibility in our family, to our relationship, if u have one, and especially to God. Don not make any commitment if you can not do it... I am not afraid to commit myself to a relationship. It is just that I know that I will have difficult time concentrating on my studies. I am still adjusting to a new chapter in my life... I Love you... these three words should not be just said to like a normal thing coz this phrase means a lot…..it is like a commitment. maybe what you are feeling right now is just infatuation or it iss just that ur attracted to him or her… maybe an appropriate term would be “I like you”.. . Promises should always be kept. For if you dont, youll make other people waste their time which is a very precious thing. If you couldnt make what you promised tell the person you’ve promised to so that lesser time will be wasted. Try to ask yourself if you have not kept a promise causing others to waste their time to examine your day before you sleep.
tnx.......
10.17.07 (7:49 am) [edit]Tnx to my ank and shobe (the holy) 4 understanding me..... I cud really open to the both you... especially u my ank.... you among the family knows me the most..... I hate my status......... $#!T..... Hehehe. I don't know wat to do.... there were times that I was hoping that I will see you less, at the same time, I still want to see you very often. But it hurts..... ouch.. hihih... I am making a poem.... here are some lines that fits my situation... "masaya ako't malungkot malungkot ako't masaya. masaya sapagkat ika'y masaya, malungkot sapagkat ika'y masaya sa piling ng iba"
i'm just envious
10.15.07 (9:44 pm) [edit]wha............ i hate it so much.. the feeling of envy.. because i don't have the right to envy those two lucky person....those two lucky people who became so special to the two special people to me( which have the same surname)...... i envy those pictures which shows their sweetness.... i hate myself for being such a coward.... i must take it out of me... remember, envy is one of the 7 capital sins together with pride, avarice, lust, gluttony, sloth and anger... i'll just play yahoo chess to forget it.. i shouldn't have opened my friendster and multipy account....... -purgatory- Terrace 2: Envy, punishment by having one's eyes sewn shut, and wearing clothing that makes the soul indistinguishable from the ground
