Prayer....conversation with God
10.20.07 (7:50 am) [edit]in a battle of the jews many century ago, Moses' sidekick Joshua, was fighting their enemy face to face while on the other hand Moses was on the top of a hill praying to God to make the jews victorious. and the result was taht the jews won the battle. This is a proof that prayer and action must always come together... as a saying goes "nasa Diyos ang awa. nasa tao ang gawa".
one can't pray to God to make him pass an exam without studying. obviously if one does, the result of his exam would be failing.... though on the other hand one could pass an exam without praying to God but one always need the help of God...
one pray not to make something impossible a reality and a reality to become impossible... one cannot pray that the sun will not rise tommorow morning. of course this will not happen because its a reality that the sun always rises every morning...
also God is not like a fairygodmother or a genie who will give you everything you wish... always keep in mind that God will always give you all things you need and not those things you want....
This is what i have heard and medidated in the meditation this evening...

Sometimes God's answer to our prayers is - "no"
- As only He knows our future and what is best for each of us.

Tama!
Prayer is not a means to modify reality, rather
pray is a medium to change yourself.
That's one of the most important lessons I got from
that meditation session. It really hit me.
I remember the situation the priest told us:
let's say one of your relatives has cancer.
You cannot come to God and ask na pagalingin Niya
ang taong iyon. The priest said that it is an unusual kind
of petition - asking God to modify reality for you
because you are not comfortable with that reality
and so are the people around you.
Instead, you must pray to God asking Him to teach you
ways on how to help, in one way or another, your relative
who has cancer. He said that, you may also ask God
to give you the strength to be kind to that person, or
to give him the things that he need. These are things that
you may do in order to help that relative.
Its really nice, the meditation. Di ko alam na ganoon pala
nangyayari doon. Attend ulit ako next saturday.
I've learned so many things.

this was the gospel last sunday (if im not mistaken).
it reminded me of my teacher's famous punchlines,
"prayers could move mountains.." and
"claim what you've asked for in prayer.."
definitely, these lines are true!
actually, for a month, hindi ako nakakapagpray ng matino..
and recently lang ako nakabalik sa dating katinuan..
when i had my confession,
Fr. Patio advised me to pray and pray..
and with that ive realized that im longing to talk to Him..
we must always remember that,
OUR LIFE SHOULD BE DEVEOTED TO PRAYER..

"OUR LIFE SHOULD BE DEVEOTED TO PRAYER.. "
I cannot agree more. We should not only pray twice a day, that is in the mornig after we wake up and in the evening before we sleep. Why? God doesn't abandon us. He doesn't, ever. He is with us always. Is He with us only in the morning and in the evening? No, right? So, why abandon Him. We can also pray althroughout the day. How? By offering everything we do to God. As St. Josemaria would say, one hour of work is one hour of prayer if we offer it up to God. And how will we do that? Simple, before you do anything, think of the presence of God, and pray, "I offer this up to You Lord." Simple right? Keeping in mind that God is always with us is form of prayer also.
Thanks to Amber, I learned and still is learning so many things.
